Mrs. Miller’s Digital Literacy course participated in the DAR’s American History Contest this year. Allyson Bowling and Brystal Angel placed first in our region with the Red River Valley DAR chapter. Their essays were sent on to state to be judged against chapters across Kentucky. We are so proud of Ally & Brystal!

On March 17th Mrs. Combs and Mrs. Davis traveled to Louisville, Kentucky along with 10 HOSA members to compete in the State Leadership Conference. There was over 1,200 HOSA members that attended this conference in which students can compete in a wide variety of Healthcare events. Lee ATC had members competing in Parliamentary Procedures, Healthcare Display, and Research Persuasive Speaking. Parliamentary Procedure team place 1st Members Cade Sparks-Wolfe Brianna Ledford-Wolfe Shelbi Stamper- Lee Taylor Thacker- Lee Chelsea Thorpe- Lee Emmi Warner-Lee Preslee Cundiff - Lee Health Care Display team of Sydnie Deaton- Lee and Madison Gentry- Lee placed top 5 in state our of 46 teams And Freshman Dylan Noe- Lee had a strong showing in Research Persuasive Speaking. Lee County ATC HOSA also had 113 pounds of pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald house which was 2nd in the state! Lee HOSA is the 2nd largest overall HOSA club in the state with 68 members!

These students competed at the Regional SKILLS competition on February 23rd. Mr. Judd's Carpentry students participated in the SKILLS USA competition on February 25th. All students who participated did very well, and we are so proud of their hard work. We are so proud of our SKILLS USA club for their performance at the regional SKILLS competition. To highlight every program, we will have a separate post for each over the next few days. First, we have Mr. Thacker's Electrical Construction students. On February 25th, they competed at the Regional SKILLS competition at Breathitt County ATC. Every student performed exceptionally well. 3 placed and will be moving forward to the state competition next month in Louisville. Lee County ATC student Logan Reed has been selected to serve as a representative on the KY Tech Student Advisory Committee! Logan will serve as a student voice for KY Tech. He will provide input on how CTE has prepared him for future, what he loves about CTE, how CTE can grow, etc. This is a great honor for both our school and Logan. We are very proud of him. Way to go, Logan!!!

Thursday, students in our Health Sciences pathways visited HCTCS-Lee's Campus Health Science program. Students met with facility members from the Medical Assisting, Health Information, LPN, and RN programs. Students were also allowed to visit the nursing skills lab with a demonstration of the interactive SIM mannequins. Students then travel to Juniper Health and toured their new Intergenerational Center.

Lee County ATC Pre-Nursing Program Mrs. Combs Pre-Nursing students completed their 16 hours of clinical at Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center this week. Mrs. Combs said that she is, " thankful for the opportunity to train students in such a wonderful facility." Lee ATC Welding students getting exposure to pipe welding with a KVEC Grant

Ms. Combs has a series of guest speakers schedule for CTE Month. The speakers are from Juniper Health and are discussing Health Care Careers.

HOSA collected aproxite 700 packages of Ramen Noodles for the Backpack program at OCHS. Jenny Barrett Youth Service Coordinator said she filled 40 backpacks each week for students that were in need.
