Below are some important tips for technical school parents and student regarding IC student Portal accounts for the ATC. 

FOR PARENTS:

1. It is important for parents trying to access the Parent Portal for technical schools to make sure they are logging into the correct web address (URL) for the Kentucky Tech Systems IC database, and that they ARE NOT trying to use the web address for the high school.

a. Here is the direct link to the KTS IC Parent Portal Login

b. It is also found on the KTS Data Exchange webpage, under the Infinite Campus Login heading.

2. For parents who have NEVER used the KTS IC Parent Portal before:

a. Parents must provide photo identification to the technical school office before any information is provided

b. Technical school office personnel will locate the PARENT in Infinite Campus, NOT THE STUDENT.

i. Look for the Parent’s name by clicking on the Search tab, selecting All People from the dropdown, then entering the parent’s name (NOT THE STUDENT).

c. Once the parent is located, click on the parent’s name, then select the Demographic tab.

d. Scroll down to the middle of the page, under the Person Identifiers heading and look for the Person GUID number.

e. The column under is the Portal Username column.

i. If the Portal Username box is blank – copy down the full Person GUID number and give to the parent. You can write it down or you can copy it and paste it into a Word document, then print the Word document off for the parent. This is code the parent will use as their Activation Key.

ii. If the Portal Username box has a username next to it – tell the parent that they must have previously created an account and give them their username so they can go to the login page and use the Forgot Password hyperlink to retrieve their login information.

f. Parent’s will take the GUID number, go to the KTS IC Parent Portal login, select Campus Parent, then click on the New User hyperlink to enter the Activation Key, then click Submit.

g. Parent will then be prompted to create a username and a password.

i. Remember that passwords are case sensitive.

h. The parent will then be prompted to add an Account Security email address.

i. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP

ii. Add an email address where a link will be sent in the vent of forgetting a password or lock out.

i. Account Security email addresses can be modified and updated from the User Menu > Settings area of the Parent Porta, after the parent logs in.

i. Click on the User Menu avatar (top right corner)

ii. Click on Settings

iii. Click on Account Settings

iv. Click Update next to Account Security Email

v. Add new email address, confirm email address, enter password, click Save.

j. **If you give the parent the student GUID number by mistake, the parent will receive a message that says the Activation Key is already in use, and it will not allow them to create an account. So be careful to only give the parent’s their own GUID number.

3. For parents who ALREADY HAVE a KTS IC Parent Portal account:

a. Parents must provide photo identification to the technical school office before any information is provided

b. Technical school office personnel will locate the PARENT in Infinite Campus, NOT THE STUDENT.

i. Look for the Parent’s name by clicking on the Search tab, selecting All People from the dropdown, then entering the parent’s name (NOT THE STUDENT).

c. Once the parent is located, click on the parent’s name, then select the Demographic tab.

d. Scroll down to the middle of the page, under the Person Identifiers heading and look for Portal Username.

i. Write down the username that shows next to the Portal Username column and provide to the parent.

e. Parents who have forgotten their password must click on the Forgot Password hyperlink on the KTS IC Parent Portal login page and follow the prompts.

f. An email will be sent the parent’s email address that was previously entered as the Account Security email address.

g. Account Security email addresses can be modified and updated from the User Menu > Settings area of the Parent Porta, after the parent logs in.

i. Click on the User Menu avatar (top right corner)

ii. Click on Settings

iii. Click on Account Settings

iv. Click Update next to Account Security Email

v. Add new email address, confirm email address, enter password, click Save.

4. Parents who continue to experience issues should reach out directly to their student’s technical school for assistance.

FOR STUDENTS:

1. It is important for students trying to access the Student Portal for technical schools to make sure they are logging into the correct web address (URL) for the Kentucky Tech Systems IC database, and that they ARE NOT trying to use the web address for their high school.

b. It is also found on the KTS Data Exchange webpage, under the Infinite Campus Login heading.

2. Student State Identification (SSID) numbers are the student usernames for the KTS IC Student Portal.

3. For the first login, students will use the below format for their password

a. <firstnameinitial><lastnameinitial><MMDDYYdateofbirth>

b. The above is lower case letters

4. Student will then be prompted to change their password to one of their choosing.

a. They must remember that passwords are case sensitive, so they must remember if they user upper or lower case letters in their password

5. Student will then be prompted to add an Account Security email address.

a. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

b. Add an email address where a link will be sent in the event of forgetting a password or lock out.

c. Account Security email addresses can be modified and updated from the User Menu > Settings area of the Student Portal, after the student logs in.

i. Click on the User Menu avatar (top right corner)

ii. Click on Settings

iii. Click on Account Settings

iv. Click Update next to Account Security Email

v. Add new email address, confirm email address, enter password, click Save
