SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Torrent Lodge No. 711 F&AM will award a scholarship to a LCHS Senior. Applicants must have  a 2.5. Applications may be picked up from Mr. Stickler and are back to Mr. Stickler by the end of the day on Monday, April 28, 2019.

 

The Beattyville Woman’s Club will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a senior girl who desires to go to college and has a financial need.  The applicant should have a B+ average and a composite of 19 on the ACT.  Applications may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and are due to Mr. Stickler by Monday, May 6, 2019.

 

The Johnnie Green Perseverance Scholarship will award a scholarship to a graduating Senior. Applicants must have 3.0 g.p.a, must participate in an LCHS sport, must be active in the community, and must be involved in at least two clubs/organizations.  Applications may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and submitted to Mr. Stickler by Monday, May 6,  2019.

 

The Bobcat Dairy Bar 2019 Senior Scholarship is the amount of $250 for one Senior that plans to attend a college, university, or technical school in Kentucky.  Application’s may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and submitted to Mr. Stickler by Monday, May 6, 2019.

 

KASA Kentucky’s Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Jim Evans is sponsoring five  $1,000 scholarships to  graduating LCHS Seniors.  Applicants must be ranked in the upper 20 percent of the graduating class, demonstrate financial need, and have a commitment of serving others. Applications may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and submitted by Friday, May 3, 2019.

 

The Sedley and Rena Stewart Education Scholarship and the Claudio and Linda Stewart Ratti Scholarship  are in the amount of $1,000 for each scholarship. This is for a student who demonstrates strong leadership qualities, fine academics, a sincere desire for continuing his/her education and demonstrates outstanding moral character.  This is a renewable scholarship.  Applications may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and submitted by Thursday, May 2, 2019.

 

Marcum and Wallace Hospital be awarding a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. Students must have a 2.5 gpa and be interested in pursuing a health care related career.  Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Friday, April 19, 2019.

 

The Murrey-McHone Scholarship will reward a $250 scholarship to a graduating senior. Applicants must write an essay for the application.  Applications are available in Mr Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Friday, April 19, 2019.

 

The Lee County Conservation District will award a $1,000(renewable for 4 years)  scholarship to a graduating Senior  that is pursuing a degree in a natural resource conservation or a related field. This could include, but not limited to, the following: Agriculture, Biology, Fish and Wildlife Management, Forestry, Geology, Home Economics and Horticulture. Applicants must be a resident of Lee County. Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Friday, April 26, 2019.

 

The Beatty Heritage Award will reward a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior that has been accepted to a college, junior college, or university in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  This award was developed to promote an interest in the heritage of Beattyville, its founders, and the significant events in its history.  Applicants will be judged on a written essay and application.  Applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, April 23, 2019.  Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office.

 

The Lee County Educational Foundation will reward four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors planning on attending college. Applicants must have a 2.0 or above, have completed a FAFSA form, show financial need, and working toward a 4 year degree.  Students must also participate in an interview for the scholarship.  Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office and are due to Mr. Stickler by Friday, May 3, 2019.

 

The Lee County Kiwanis Club is sponsoring two $500 scholarships. There will be one given to a male and one to a female.  Applicants must complete an application and meet specific scholarship guidelines. Applicants are required to attend one Kiwanis meeting(Every Tuesday at 6:00 at Happy Top).  Application deadline is Monday, May 6, 2019. For an application and list of guidelines, Seniors must pick up an application at Citizen’s Bank from Doug Brandenburg, at Don Begley Auto from Don Begley, or in Mr. Stickler’s office.  

 

The Lee County Masonic Scholarship Fund will reward a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior that plans on attending college/technical school after graduation.  Students must complete an application and write a two page essay.  Applications may be picked up in Mr. Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Wednesday , May 8, 2019.


The Lee County Farm Bureau will award four scholarships to seniors pursuing a degree at a college/university.  Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, be a child of a Lee County Farm Bureau member, and be a resident of Lee County.  Applications may be picked up at the Lee County Farm Bureau office on Main Street and must be returned to Rick Johnson the Lee County Farm Bureau related career. Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

The Passionately Pink Scholarship will reward a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. Applicants must have a 2.5 gpa, be enrolled in a college/technical school for Fall 2018, and plan to pursue a health related career. Applications are available in Mr. Stickler’s office and must be returned to Mr. Stickler by Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
