All Lee County Schools offer Extended School Services(ESS) to any students with the following objectives:
- To prevent students from not completing their education with their peers.
- To provide extended programming for students who are at risk of being retained in a class or grade.
- To close the achievement gap of low-performing students.
An after-school tutorial program and a summer school program are being offered for FY 2009-2010 school year for grades K-12. Any student who is at risk of failing a subject/grade, who needs credit to be promoted/graduate, or who is working below age or grade level may be referred. ESS is a voluntary program and guardians may choose for their child not to participate. Guardians may also referred their child for ESS.
