Employment Opportunities for Substitute Bus Drivers, Maintenance Workers and Cooks

LEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVERS, MAINTENANCE WORKERS AND COOKS

 

The Lee County School District is seeking qualified applicants for substitute bus drivers, substitute maintenance workers and substitute cooks.  Interested applicants may access an application on the district’s webpage (http://www.lee.kyschools.us) under the employment tab or in person at Lee County Board of Education, 242 Lee Avenue, Beattyville, KY  41311.  Applicants should contact Dr. Jim Evans, Superintendent, at 606-464-5000 to schedule an appointment.  Minimum qualifications are below:

 

Substitute Bus Driver

  • Must be at least 21 years of age;
  • Must pass a State and Federal background check;
  • Must pass a Child Abuse/Neglect check;
  • Must pass a drug screening;
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle check;
  • Must pass a CDL physical;
  • Must have any combination equivalent to:  high school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law;
  • Must have or obtain CDL license to include General Knowledge with Airbrake, P-passenger and S-school bus Endorsements (Lee County School District will provide in-house training for CDL test and Kentucky Department of Education bus training).

 

Substitute Maintenance Employee

  • Must pass a State and Federal background check;
  • Must pass a Child Abuse/Neglect check;
  • Must pass a drug screening;
  • Must pass a physical;
  • Must have any combination equivalent to:  high school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law and one year building and mechanical maintenance or operations experience.

 

Substitute Cook

  • Must pass a State and Federal background check;
  • Must pass a Child Abuse/Neglect check;
  • Must pass a drug screening;
  • Must pass a physical;
  • Must have or obtain a Food Handler’s Permit;
  • Must have any combination equivalent to:  high school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
